So far, so good on the seedling front. The only thing I am worried/wondering about for the tomatoes under plastic is which is the lesser of two evils. Specifically, there is a lot of condensation forming under there, so I am worried about the leaves getting wet, but I don't know if that is a better or worse prospect than the shock of pinning up the side for the cold air to blast in (any thoughts from more experienced gardeners?). I pinned it up for about an hour yesterday afternoon just to get some air in there, but it is just as cold and windy today, so not sure what to do!
As for the puppies, I am extremely excited to announce that we left them alone in the house, not in their cage, for a full 45 minutes while we ran some errands, and came back to find them good as gold snoozing on the couch, not a cushion ripped to bits or slipper slobbered on or other disaster! I had been leaving them for little bits while I went out to the bakery or local post office, but probably never more than 5-10 minutes, so this felt like quite an achievement! Maybe it was just a one-off, lucky occurrence, but it does seem like they are getting old enough to understand what is good behavior and what is not, and to resist the temptation (most of the time) to behave badly. It is hard to believe they will be 11 months old this month, and a full year old in June (they were born on the 18th of June, the day before my birthday :) so we will have to have a special joint celebration...separate cakes though). Aw, my girls are growing up!
